In Lending Services, we document, fund, and service all loans for First Republic. We’re also responsible for servicing investor and collateral loan portfolios, as well as responding to client and loan team inquiries. Lending Services provides operational support in streamlining workflow processes, driving product development, and providing training, lending compliance support, and professional development resources. Additionally, we provide operational risk and internal control oversight, support lending-based systems and vendors, and manage technology projects across First Republic product lines.


The Lending Technology Commercial Portfolio Lead determines the strategic direction of several commercial lending products or workstreams including document preparation, portfolio management and servicing in alignment with the business and overall bank strategy, revenue goals, market opportunities and other business objectives.

In the role they will build and develop a business level vision for the set of products assigned, build and foster a team to support the products and executes on the vision.

They will be the “defacto” subject matter expert within the bank and serves to understand the current market of products available outside the bank to continuously review, analyze and, where appropriate, recommend new products for possible implementation.  These efforts include identifying current gaps within the bank, finding and evaluating new vendors, products and/or processes driven by business needs assessments, market/vendor comparisons, regulatory changes/updates and industry trends.  If required, RFIs or RFP processes may be required along with the subsequent documentation of findings and executive presentations.

They will have strong business acumen specifically around commercial lending. The product portfolio manager must have strong understanding of loan operating systems, specifically, nCino, industry leading loan accounting systems, AFS III, AFS Vision, or Loan IQ and document preparation systems, with specific capabilities and knowledge of industry vendors such as LaserPro, CSI or Walters Kluwer.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must possess at least 7+ years of commercial lending experience
  • 3+ years nCino experience
  • Have lead requirement gathering sessions for a commercial lending
  • Have a solid understanding of commercial servicing systems: AFS, Loan IQ, etc
  • Must be a quick learner and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to provide extraordinary service.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Must be deadline oriented.
  • Must be able to deal with ambiguous situations.
