First Republic Private Wealth Management is comprised of investment management, brokerage, trust, financial planning and insurance professionals within First Republic Investment Management (FRIM), First Republic Securities Company (FRSC),  First Republic Trust Company (FRTC), and Foreign Exchange. We offer customized wealth management solutions for our clients from a wide array of services including comprehensive investment management, financial planning, estate planning, trust services, endowment management and more. The Market Business Leader will be charged with supporting the Regional Business Leader’s leadership efforts in successfully growing and managing their respective region. The responsibilities associated with this role represent an important management responsibility as junior partner of the leadership team, encompassing the growth and development of our Wealth Management colleagues and contributing to the broader enterprise goals of First Republic Bank.  

The activities and responsibilities associated with the MBL role are multifaceted, and include growing the business, direct oversight and supervision of Wealth Managers, partnership with the executive leadership team and Wealth Managers, responding to everyday issues, driving institutional change efforts with various stakeholders, supporting the recruitment efforts and subsequent integration of new Wealth Managers, and overseeing administrative efforts within the region.


What you’ll do as Vice President, Market Business Leader:  

  • Develop into a senior First Republic leader by aiding the Regional Business Leader in executing a defined regional strategy to ensure goals are achieved
  • Gain knowledge of the PWM business, sales process, regulatory & supervisory framework, corporate guidelines, and procedures
  • Collaborate with Wealth Manager teams to address business opportunities/challenges
  • Serve as initial escalation point for issues pertaining to Wealth Manager teams
  • Promote the positioning of Wealth Managers as trusted advisor through the further introduction of other Private Wealth Management (“PWM”) products and services (e.g., trust, insurance, FX and financial planning)
  • Identify process improvements and lead projects
  • Assist in preserving and promoting the culture of First Republic and its stated values
  • Lead administrative efforts
  • Support recruiting, onboarding and integration of new Wealth Manager hires
  • Partner with colleagues across the First Republic organization

 

You could be a great fit if you have:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in wealth management and have a strong understanding of financial planning concepts
  • Demonstrate dynamic analytical and technical abilities and strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of banking and wealth management products and services
  • Solid understanding of investments and financial markets
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and strong decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Perform independent research as needed to gain a technical understanding of concepts and strategies.
  • The aspiration of being a team player with a sincere desire to play a role in a growing the wealth management business.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under high pressure
  • Team player mentality with the ability to work cohesively with a team across departments

  • A “high touch” client service approach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel
  • Series 9, 10, or 24 required

  • Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient.
