The Digital Channels team is responsible for client focused digital experiences that support our Consumer Private Banking, Corporate, and Private Wealth Management businesses. We are seeking a dynamic, organized leader to play a key role in supporting these efforts amidst the rapidly changing digital servicing and sales landscape.


Digital Risk Management  

The Digital Channels team seeks a highly motivated risk management leader who is comfortable leading the risk management function within the 1st line of defense (LOD). You will be adept at influencing and collaborating with cross-functional partners and control stakeholders to drive towards effective risk management strategies for Digital product delivery. You will drive scalable risk strategy, risk assessments, reporting, product evaluation and governance across Digital Channels.


What you’ll do as a VP, Head of Digital Risk Management:

  • [Facilitate] Further mature risk management practices across the 1st LOD within Digital Channels including:
    • Accountable and responsible for supporting and facilitating end-to-end identification and assessment of existing and new process/product/system risks and controls
    • Establish the maintenance and change management processes for business profile, risk/control library and issues inventory specific to Digital Channels and the business units within
    • Responsible for identifying risk trends and/or symptoms of process control breakdowns
    • Drive risk awareness, risk accountability and risk culture throughout all areas of Digital
    • Facilitate and provide advisory support in the identification of expected controls to meet risk program and regulatory obligations
    • Provide support, coordination, and inventory of all testing activities performed (e.g., control testing, compliance testing) and drive maturity improvements based on outputs of control testing
  • [Build] Develop business relationships and drive 1st LOD risk management coordination, including:
    • Drives inclusion, dialogue and decision making on key risks within 1st, 2nd and 3rd LOD risk governance forums
    • Communicates overall risk identification and control environment health results
    • Provides coordination and guidance between 2nd LOD, 3rd LOD, and regulators specific to 1st LOD inquiries, exam, and audits
    • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled
    • Anticipates business needs and proactively identifies opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment through actionable insights
  • [Strategize] Act in a business advisory role to product leaders including:
    • Constantly examining the market and industry to identify risk management solutions that a support a fast-paced environment focused on client servicing and security
    • Execute a Product Risk Management strategic vision and establish standards.  Ensure on-going processes for improving oversight.
    • Embeds a strong risk culture related to Digital changes to promote transparency and accountability for the risks inherent in new products and activities
    • Stay current on new and evolving regulatory requirements and guidance assess impact and ensure program alignment to regulatory expectations.


You could be a great fit if you have:

  • 10+ years of related technology, product, operational, strategic, and reputational 1st LOD and / or 2nd LOD risk management experience. Experience should include senior risk management positions.
  • Experience proactively identifying reputational, strategic, compliance, technology and operational risks and assessing the adequacy of controls to manage such risks, including recommending enhanced or additional controls
  • Deep experience in Digital Channels and Product Management as well as leading a team of risk professionals.
  • Proven ability to keep multiple projects and work streams on track at one time. These projects may be multi-month engagements and have multiple stakeholders across business groups.
  • Strong sense of problem-solving, communication, leadership, strategic and critical thinking, responsibility, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large, complex organizations, including effective influencing skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests
