The Deposit Services team provides operational support to First Republic clients, both external and internal. The Senior Project Manager, Compliance & Risk will manage operational projects throughout the portfolio within the Deposits Franchise.  The individual is extremely adaptable and has the ability to manage multiple highly complex projects.  The role requires exceptional communication skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved. Project reporting, governance and transparency is also essential and must be demonstrated through previous projects and successes. Attention to detail and an ability to convey relevant information at summary and detailed levels is a key factor to success in this role. Requires experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies.  Knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management methodologies is ideal.


What you’ll do as a Senior Project Manager, Compliance & Risk:


  • Drive developing business requirements, process flows, use cases, test plans and other work streams related activities and artifacts.
  • Take problem statements and turn them into actionable project plans with complete transparency to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of project planning within and across related projects including scope, budget, financial forecasting, and scheduling.
  • Facilitate impact analyses of current/existing technologies.
  • Contribute and/or lead vendor relationship management for project-related vendors and coordinates initial contracts, contract renewals, and addenda to contracts with key project vendors.
  • Keep project governance up to date; report on projects and contribute to their incremental improvement.
  • Monitor project and/or program execution and escalate project risks and issues early.
  • Facilitate adoption of business process changes and lead project team and stakeholders through effective change management
  • Develop detailed communication and rollout plans and manage business process changes
  • Partner with Deposit Services training team to create appropriate training on new process
  • Manage time bound regulatory compliance projects impacting critical business functions
  • Support management in data gathering for regulatory and third party reviews.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule.


You could be a great fit if you have:


  • Four-year degree or equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Six or more years of project/program management experience and demonstrated success. 
  • Six or more years of experience that demonstrates an in depth understanding of IT and Financial Services systems and operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of project and program management principles along with formal certification.
  • A proven track record for delivering on complex change initiatives within a challenging environment
  • Expertise in MS Office, MS Visio, and MS Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships at all levels of the enterprise including external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and strategic thinking under a minimum of supervision.
  • Experience in Audit, Compliance or Risk Management preferred.

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient.
