The PWM Product Management team is responsible for products and solutions that drive and enable the Private Wealth Management business. We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to play a key role in supporting product development for Private Wealth Management operations, spanning account maintenance/servicing, asset transfers, risk management, revenue, and billing functions.

The role requires the ability to understand business problems while working closely with engineering to develop products and solutions. The right candidate will join an expanding team that brings excitement and energy to improving operations for a fast-growing business within First Republic.

The Director, PWM Product Manager for private wealth operations would be responsible for detailed analysis of business problems, developing product needs and working with engineering in an agile model for product execution. The role will require good communication skills and the ability to collaboratively work with different stakeholders within operations and engineering to effectively be able to execute on product vision.


What you'll be doing as a Director, PWM Product Manager:

  • Work closely with business/operations to document & analyze business problems, recommend solutions and a roadmap
  • Develop a deep understanding of business needs and how they can be fulfilled by bank/vendor systems
  • Develop the business case and value proposition for each initiative to support gathering organizational resources for execution while ensuring fit with strategic objectives
  • Develop, prioritize and drive product backlog with the team
  • Create and evangelize a product roadmap based on backlog, sizing and capacity
  • Work effectively with vendors/third parties for applicable products/services
  • Track reporting requirements and analyze the usage/adoption
  • Leverage collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence for product requirements and documentation; develop user stories, use cases and/or workflows as applicable
  • Partner with engineering teams in applicable agile ceremonies including refinement, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives
  • Participate in validation of delivered features for UAT and Post-Go Live by working closely with engineering and business teams
  • Socialize features and provide training to technical support teams to support features after launch
  • Bring the ability to plan and work with little direct supervision effectively in a highly complex, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Perform duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities.

  • Experience in a product management or business analyst role
  • Experience writing functional requirements and conducting business process analysis
  • Ability to create concepts/wireframes to develop a business case
  • Experience in developing & presenting a business cases & roadmap
  • Demonstratable communication skills & ability to collaborate across the company
  • Ability to develop relationships and find common ground to solve business problems
  • Ability to skillfully negotiate in tough situations either directly or diplomatically
  • Hands on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio

Job Demands:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • 7+ years of product management or relevant experience required
  • Applied experience developing functional requirements or user stories
  • Adept at using MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint & performing basic data analysis
  • Adept at documenting workflows and business processes using MS Visio
  • Financial services, Fintech, Banking or Wealth Management experience is a plus
  • Applied experience in an agile model is a plus
  • Agile certification is a plus
