    Join a great team and help support a top producing Managing Director in a fast paced environment! Responsible for ensuring that all single and multi-family residential and commercial loans are analyzed, underwritten and processed in a timely manner while achieving a high level of client service and maintaining all regulatory requirements. Responsibilities primarily focus on financial analysis, underwriting and relationship management. Individual must have extensive mortgage underwriting experience and a thorough understanding of the loan process from beginning to end.


    • Communicate with customers, providing exceptional client service and ensuring that the customer relationship is maintained at the highest possible level.
    • Review set-up loan files for completeness and identify any missing documentation or potential issues.
    • Analyze each loan file, ensuring the LAW form, loan narrative (if applicable), appraisal(s), application, preliminary title report and verifications meet secondary market and First Republic Bank loan program criteria and are accurately documented.


      Underwrite and author high quality credit narratives.


      Financial analysis including spreading financial statements and tax returns (including K-1’s) and any other related financial documents, cash flow analysis and credit reports.


      Ability to manually calculate (without the use of a program or software), perform analysis and underwrite.
    • Prepare loan files for funding by reviewing the analysis for accuracy and by completing the Request for Documents form to ensure all regulatory information and loan terms are accurately input into the computer system to meet compliance.
    • Prepare pre-qualification and/or commitment letters for loan officer review.

    • Cross trains other team members, when applicable.
    • Perform duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities.
    • Performs other duties & responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.

    Responsibilities include the following:

    1. adhering to, and complying with, the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (AML)
      (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US Patriot Act, etc.)
    2. adhering to Bank policies and procedures
    3. completing required training
    4. identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer
    5. verifying the identity of any customers that enter into a relationship with the Bank



    • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
    • Extensive work experience, at least 3-5 years, in residential and commercial loan analysis and underwriting. Processing experience a plus.
    • Advanced analytical skills, with a focus on underwriting residential real estate and client financial data.
    • Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced/deadline oriented environment.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills.
    • Detail Oriented.
    • Proactive, positive, and open-minded attitude with high degree of accountability and ability to work independently and with the team.
    • Advanced Excel and Word skills.


    • Ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions; understand the meaning of words and respond effectively; and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
    • Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens.
    • Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.
    • Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions.
    • Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
    • Must be able to travel in a limited capacity.
