First Republic’s “Operations Analysis & Process Improvement” (OAPI) office works across the enterprise to support identification and resolution of operational inefficiencies or enhancement opportunities. The team will work collaboratively to drive improvements to client experience, operational efficiency and risk management as part of the Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Initiative, and operational readiness for certain critical implementations in the Bank’s IT & Ops Roadmap.

This position reports to the Vice President, Head of Operations Analysis & Process Improvement (OAPI). The Manager of Program Development will own and manage all aspects of marketing, communications, employee engagement and program development for the Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiative. The CPI initiative engages employees across the Bank to identify operational improvement opportunities and implement solutions. This role will help develop an operating framework to manage an inventory of those initiatives, develop and deploy timely marketing and communication plans across all levels of the organization, and creatively drive employee engagement (e.g. gamification of operational improvement challenges).

This role requires a proven ability in managing the marketing and communication aspects at the program level, ability to develop and deploy training, as well as meet reporting needs across all levels of the organization. This role has the exciting opportunity to work with employees across the organization to achieve these goals.


  • Support the OAPI team with managing initiatives enterprise-wide that promote operational process improvement. Support includes but is not limited to:

    1. Employee idea and project inventory management
    2. Initial Assessment
    3. Marketing & Communications
    4. Reporting
  • Develop a communications plan and protocol for a project undertaken across its lifecycle (initiation through completion). Tailor the communications plan contingent upon phase, type of initiative, impact, effort and other relevant factors.
  • Develop and implement a framework to drive employee engagement and participation within the CPI program. Employ tools that inspire collaboration and engagement via gamification and interactivity. Manage all aspects of this solution including vendor assessment, vendor management, implementation, deployment, communications, training, maintenance, and evaluation.
  • Managing the inventory of initiatives and managing the employee engagement platform will include consultative interaction with employees who submit initiative proposals. The manager will review initiative proposals for clarity and completeness, following up with employees when necessary. The manager will also interact with employees on the engagement platform.
  • Additional responsibilities include the following:

    1. Adhering to and complying with all applicable federate laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.)
    2. Adhering to Bank policies and procedures
    3. Completing required training

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience required
  • 4+ years of Marketing & Communications experience required
  • User Experience (UI / UX) development experience preferred
  • Initiative/program/campaign development and launch experience preferred
  • Project/program management experience preferred
  • Process improvement experience preferred
  • Banking / financial services experience preferred
  • Professional services or consulting experience preferred

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions; understand the meaning of words and respond effectively; and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly
  • Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens
  • Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person
