The Vendor Management department is responsible for centrally supporting vendor due diligence, contract negotiations, and vendor relationship management for the Bank. The Vendor Risk Analyst plays an important role in managing the Bank’s risk vis-à-vis the vendor portfolio. Some key activities will include performing vendor due diligence for both new and existing vendors based on the vendor criticality and access to confidential data, preparing and validating internal and regulatory reports, and assisting with a variety of department projects and presentations. The position is also responsible for the consolidation and management of vendor data in Archer which is the Vendor Management system. These activities will involve coordination across multiple internal stakeholder groups such as Legal, Information Security, Compliance, BSA/AML, and the sponsoring business unit.

 

First Republic regularly depends upon third parties for critical systems and services. Vendor Management works directly with business units to ensure that vendors are properly identified and appropriately assessed to ensure the Bank is protected. The Vendor Risk Analyst will provide expertise and support internal business units successfully and manage vendors. As a member of the Vendor Management team, the Vendor Risk Analyst will contribute to the Bank’s success by engaging qualified vendors under beneficial business terms and effectively managing the risks incumbent in relying upon independent third-party service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform risk assessment/due diligence for new and existing third parties working closely with internal stakeholders
  • Monitor key risk indicators based on vendor criticality ratings
  • Host calls between internal stakeholders and vendors as needed
  • Track vendor service levels and aggregate data into department reports
  • Using FFIECFFIEC, OCCOCC, SEC and other regulatory guidance identify required process improvements and work with internal stakeholders to continually improve risk assessment operations.
  • Perform duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities.
  • Performs other duties & responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.
  • Responsibilities include the following: 1) adhering to and complying with all applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.), 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training, 4) identifying and reporting potential suspicious activity to the BSA/AMLAML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank. 

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in an applicable field
  • Background and knowledge of vendor management and vendor due diligence in a regulated industry such as banking, health care or insurance              
  • Ability to define and implement operational tools and systems 
  • Strong analytical skills, decision-making capabilities, problem solving, project management skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Customer service focus
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all levels of an organization
  • Familiarity with MS Office products (Excel/Word/PowerPoint
  • Banking experience desired
  • Archer or other enterprise risk management tools preferred
  • Familiarity with procurement methods and general supply chain management preferred
