The Data Analyst professional will develop a deep understanding of the data flows across many of First Republic Investment Management (FRIM) systems, reconciling data from disparate sources, to ensure a robust data set for portfolio management and business reporting. The Data Analyst works with subject matter experts from FRIM team to determine data requirements for FRIM systems, develop these requirements into functional specifications and data flow design documents and implements this vision. Workflow includes identifying necessary data, reconciling with the new application and the legacy data sources and ensuring a successful operation of the PWM Data Warehouse. This will include communicating business term definition, establishing data quality rules, writing and execute data quality checks, researching and analyzing data in support of business functions, process and workflow knowledge and user acceptance testing.







  • Collaborate with the Technology, Research, Operations and Compliance teams to jointly identify data needs required to deliver the next generation of wealth management technology data warehouse solutions.
  • Reconcile source data with data at vendor to improve the efficiency of the data warehouse and associated systems
  • Develop and verify data mapping as needed
  • Write and execute daily quality checks to:
  • Ensure that all and only the expected records appear
  • Ensure that calculated values are correct
  • Ensure that abnormal/edge cases are handled as expected
  • Ensure that all values fall within expected range
  • Check null value handling, etc.
  • Communicate standard calculation logic and business term definition
  • Establish best practices and data quality rules benefiting all aspects of the business.
  • Work closely with vendors to debug data issues
  • Communicate results and insights with project teams and stakeholders (e.g., through live presentations and ongoing analysis/reports).






Experience & Education:

  • BA in accounting, computer science, or finance required 5+ years of relevant work experience with background in investment management. Experience with custodian data a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis and/or data management



Technical Skills:


  • Solid expertise writing SQL
  • Experience with APX a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience debugging code
  • Knowledge of investment management – with ability to  interpret definitions and calculations from business language to developer logic

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills - ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the business
