The Senior User Experience Designer, Money Movement is responsible for the design of new payments and transfers functionality.

This person will work within First Republic’s in-house digital banking user experience team and will work closely with the product team. This is a highly collaborative role, requiring the solicitation of design feedback from stakeholders and senior management.

This person reports to the Director of User Experience, Digital Channels.


  • Produce sketches, flows, prototypes and high-fidelity mockups for new mobile features and interactions.
  • Collaborate closely within the UX team and the product team to define new features and functionality based on complex requirements.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • UAT and testing to ensure implementation quality.
  • Rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Take part in design reviews and solicit feedback from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Make strategic design and UX decisions related to existing and new functions and features. 
  • Participate in a wide variety of user research activities.
  • Help improve design and research processes.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:



  • Expertise in standard UX tools like Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision
  • Demonstrable understanding of iOS and Android design standards
  • A portfolio that shows your design skills and past work
  • A track record of delivering high quality end-to-end designs including annotated wireframes, prototypes, specifications, and presentations
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design processes: planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Openness to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
  • Ability to present and explain design decisions to diverse groups, including senior management

  • Design workshop facilitation
  • Experience writing UX content
  • Service design
  • Agile scrum experience

Education/work experience:

  • Experience designing for financial, healthcare, or other highly-regulated industries
  • 3+ years designing elegant solutions for complex user flows
  • Experience designing for responsive web, iOS, and Android


Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens.
  • Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.
  • Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions.
  • Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
