    The Developer is responsible for enhancing the Microsoft ETL stack by developing and maintaining required ETLs and SSRS reports within PWM Technology.  He/she will work within an agile team structure and contribute to increase the footprint and quality of integration with various other systems.

     

    This position reports to a Director of Wealth Management Technology and supports the development and implementation of Wealth Management’s technology roadmap. This role has a key responsibility within First Republic to ensure that our client experience within Wealth Management maintains the highest standards of the Bank. 

     

    Additionally, the candidate may provide assistance in general software administration and ongoing support of applications and other technologies in cooperation with the business and other areas of IT.

    The developer works with architects and analysts to review defined requirements, analyze and translate these requirements into solution design and code where applicable, and participates in the full development process life-cycle from concept through testing, implementation, and support using Agile development methodology. This includes leveraging/improving established frameworks, code reviews, identifying approaches to creatively solve data problems, POC, data quality, bug fixing, vendor coordination, environments management, L2 support and release/change and deployment planning.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with IT team to develop/maintain the ETL footprint and quality 
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to review business requirements/use stories, assist in fit/gap analysis and provide detailed technical design documentation.
    • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools quickly.
    • Profile and analyze large amounts of data, understand systems, automation & integration and customization.
    • Work with data originators to fill in gaps in the data collected, and/or to adjust source-system data structures to facilitate analysis and integration with other company data.
    • Assists users with the report design, running, and troubleshooting
    • Monitors and maintains system performance and provide reporting based on performance statistics. 
    • Establish and maintain working relationships with technical and architectural team members across the technology organization

    Qualifications

    Experience & Education:

    • 5+ years of SSIS experience a must
    • 3+ year of SSRS experience.
    • 5+ years of MS SQL Server Database design/development
    • Experience with Banking Data preferred
    • Data Analysis skills is a must
    • 3+ Years Batch scripting


    Expert Level Required:

    • SSIS
    • T-SQL
    • SSRS


    Detail Level Required:

    • Batch Script
    • Ability to debug and performance tune
    • SQL Server Database troubleshooting
    • Job/Process Automation
    • Preferred to be involved in system consolidation/integration efforts.
    • General server administration like using Event Viewer, SQL profiler, AD groups.
    • Relational database design/modeling


    Additional skills desired:

    • Using Source control such as TFS
    • Deployment and release management
    • Third party schedulers like Control-M etc.
    • Challenges of large relational data sets, including load performance, query performance, archiving, etc.
    • Capital Markets knowledge and experience is desired


    Professional Skills/Competency:

    • Focus on development/ improvement of framework to support repeatable and scalable solutions
    • Expert-level SQL coding/querying skills in SQL Server
    • Exposure with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Microsoft SSRS, or Oracle OBIEE.
    • Experience with relational database design/modeling.
    • Consistently demonstrates and follows high standards of integrity in business decision-making

    Mental/Physical Requirements:

    • Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens.
    • Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.

    • Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
    • Must be able to travel in a limited capacity.
