As part of the Information Services team, the Wealth Management Technology Team drives the vision to create an industry leading, client-centric wealth technology experience. The team is looking for forward thinking, action oriented individuals to help drive the implementation of innovative, cutting-edge solutions. 


This position reports to the Director of Data Management for Wealth Management Technology and supports the development and implementation of Wealth Management’s technology roadmap. This role has a key responsibility within First Republic to ensure that our client experience within Wealth Management maintains the highest standards of the Bank. 

The Data Analyst works with subject matter experts from the project team to determine data requirements for PWM Reporting platform, develop functional specifications, provide detailed data flow documents, and participate in the full development process life-cycle from concept, through testing and implementation. This includes identifying necessary data, reconciling with the new application and the legacy data sources and ensuring a successful implementation of PWM Reporting capability. This will include communicating business term definition, establishing data quality rules, writing and execute data quality checks, researching and analyzing data in support of business functions, process and workflow knowledge and user acceptance testing.


  • Lead the strategic process to build and maintain an integrated strategic dataset that provides a holistic view of Wealth Management that will yield actionable insights and not passive information
  • Serve as a liaison between the business and technical teams while leading the requirements gathering process, source data identification, proof of concept and coordination of user acceptance testing for business intelligence solutions
  • Analyze business needs and participate in the planning, design and implementation of new or enhanced end-to-end business intelligence capabilities.  These include: Information & actionable insights, process automation, DataMart design and maintenance
  • Develop, implement, and optimize analytical processes and associated KPI’s to improve how we measure and report on the performance of our lending operations, our loan portfolio and our sales organization
  • Run ad-hoc analysis for Product Managers using standard query languages and operationalize for repeatable use via Tableau reporting suite
  • Continuous improvement for existing reporting and processes
  • Maintain validation of reporting business rules, documentation and distributions to proper stakeholders
  • Train and educate co-workers on SQL, data visualization tools and best practices
  • Design and coordinate a curriculum for training in our BI tools to drive adoption and to enhance business decision-making capability


Experience & Education:

  • BA or BS in Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering required
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in data analysis and/or business intelligence
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with background in wealth management and/or reporting/portal
  • Knowledge of Private Wealth Management/Investment Management – with ability to  interpret definitions and calculations from business language to developer logic
  • Experience with portfolio management and related reporting


Technical Skills:

  • Strong visualization design and development experience with Tableau (or other Business Intelligence tools)
  • Expert in writing SQL
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience debugging code

  • Proven track record of leading business critical BI/Analytics projects
  • Ability to operate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills - ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the business 
  • Clear, high-level understanding of complex data models and software  integration/delivery
  • Focus on development/ improvement of data  to support continuous evolution of a more competitive and profitable Bank
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to present effectively to both business and technical audiences at all levels of the organization
  • Strong orientation to clients, including demonstrated ability to understand needs and apply this knowledge to drive data enhancements
