The Private Wealth Management (PWM) team is looking for a Vice President of Product Management (Portfolio Management & Trading) who will be responsible for product development and evolution of the portfolio management and trading platforms used by our Trading Desks and Wealth Managers.

This individual will partner with the PWM Technology Team, the Trading Desks and other stakeholders across the PWM business to identify the tools and capabilities needed in this area, assess existing platforms, and define a roadmap for achieving the desired future state. This Vice President will be responsible for selecting and leading implementation of new platforms and driving enhancements to existing tools to improve portfolio management capabilities and productivity of Wealth Managers. In addition, this individual will be responsible for monitoring industry and regulatory changes, prioritizing platform enhancements and soliciting/championing the “voice of the user” in planning and design discussions with vendors and internal partners. This individual will work cross-functionally with PWM’s Technology Team, Trading Desks and front line producers (Wealth Managers and Client Service Associates) and will need to be able to manage requests from various groups and prioritize work across multiple fronts. While strategic thinking and coordination are important elements of this role, this individual will be required to take a tactical role with requirements, design, testing, and roll out/adoption with users.










  • Drive development of the short/medium/long term roadmap for PWM’s portfolio management and trading platforms.
  • Champion this vision across business and technology teams to deliver meaningful business value that aligns with technology standards and goals.
  • Partner with PWM Technology to execute against the roadmap including implementation of new platforms and enhancements to existing tools to meet evolving business needs.
  • Working in a hands-on way, provide leadership in a matrix environment and successfully execute against the roadmap and deliver large and complex projects.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the portfolio management and trading processes and needs of the Wealth Managers and Trading Desks. Actively solicit and represent the “voice of the user.”
  • As a product manager, create sound business requirements, act as liaison with cross functional teams and vendors, provide oversight of deliverables, conduct usability testing, and manage production certifications and deployments in partnership with the PWM technology team and vendors.
  • Optimize the services of our partnered vendors by effectively managing the relationships and their deliverables to meet our high standards.
  • Monitor competitive products and industry trends and evolve the product roadmap.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory, legal and industry best practices to ensure compliance and an appropriate level of risk in how the platforms are used and managed. Partner closely with Operations, Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Information Systems, Information Security and Compliance/ Legal to develop and implement appropriate risk management activities.

Education/work experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred
  • 12+ years of technology product management experience required in wealth management and an understanding of portfolio management and trading processes


Professional skill/ competency

  • Proficient with product development/design and product management of technology platforms/products, including vendor selection/management, implementation of complex wealth management tools, and roll out/change management activities to drive adoption.
  • Strong business orientation with broad experience and understanding of brokerage/wealth management processes.
  • Detail-oriented individual who has the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Hands-on, ‘roll up your sleeves’ experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skill; is able to speak articulately with and in language appropriate for business/front line users (e.g., Wealth Managers), executive management, back office operations employees and technology partners.
  • Negotiates skillfully in tough situations with internal and external groups; can be both direct and diplomatic.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel as position requires.
