  • Overview

    The Senior Associate will be a member of the First Republic Private Wealth Management (“PWM”) Administration Team assisting with new business tracking and reporting, budget planning, and managing the compensation program. The Senior Associate will primarily work with the Executive Management Team for PWM, reporting to the PWM Chief Administrative Officer. The Senior Associate will be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly reports and presentations, summarizing revenue and expense growth, assisting with the development and monitoring of the business plan for PWM, working with Senior Wealth Management Professionals and Bankers on incentive compensation programs, creating and maintaining appropriate associated supporting documentation, and responding to audit and regulatory inquiries.


    The position will interact with PWM Executive Management, PWM Operations, Wealth Management Professionals, HR/Compensation, Accounting and other functional groups. The position will be trained to fill in as needed for a variety of additional functions.

    • Develop a detailed understanding of services offered by First Republic Bank and PWM, as well as assets under management, billing and compensation processes and systems.
    • Track and report on new PWM and banking business generation.
    • Perform due diligence and pro forma financial analysis for new investment professional hires and acquisitions.
    • Lead and assist in communication to PWM Executive Management on business results and progress toward goals.
    • Perform financial analysis for PWM Executive Management on incentive compensation programs.
    • Work with Senior Wealth Management Professionals, Bankers, Client Service Associates, HR Compensation Team, Accounting and Executive Management on PWM related requests for information, research and drive resolution of issues.
    • Drive process improvements to strengthen controls, enhance data integrity and reduce production time. Work to automate recurring reports and streamline existing processes.
    • Ability to work well managing multiple priorities with near term deadlines.
    • Ability to plan and work independently with little direct supervision effectively in an entrepreneurial, dynamic and time-sensitive environment.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
    • Perform other duties & responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.
    • Responsibilities include the following:  1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.) 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training,  4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank. 


    Preferred candidate will have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Statistics
    • 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in banking, operations, consulting and/or financial planning and analysis
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong ability to collaborate in a team environment
    • Ability to handle confidential information with careful discretion and in a mature and professional manner
    • Advanced Excel skills including use of shortcut keys, Access, SQL, Tableau knowledge is a plus

    Physical Requirements:

    • Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens.
    • Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.
    • Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions.
    • Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
    • Must be able to travel in a limited capacity as required.
