Responsibilities

The Middleware Technical Lead will work as a key technical resource for design and development of the middleware layer for deposit systems at First Republic Bank. The Middleware Technical Lead will be a visible leader working across organizational boundaries and implementing state of the art integration layer for deposit technologies. The primary duty of the Middleware Technical Lead will be to partner with Business and Business System Analysts to understand business & technical requirements and then partner with key technology resources and vendors to design, develop and deliver end to end integration solutions. The ideal candidate will be able to perform as a solution architect by designing optimal solutions on appropriate platform, and then lead a team to develop the solution.  The candidate is expected to be a self-starter, requiring minimal oversight, is results-oriented, with a strong sense of teamwork. The role requires proven integration solution development skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved. 

 

In addition to these more general cross functional responsibilities, the Middleware Technical Lead will Serves as the Solution Architect and Development Lead for Deposit Integration Layer. 

  • Partner with key technical resources (example, Architects, Solution designers) and vendors to design and develop technical solutions.
  • Perform end to end impact assessment for any technical change and how it may impact upstream and downstream systems and processes.
  • Partner with the Testing Lead to provide guidance in overall test strategy and test execution.
  • Support the Business for User Acceptance Test.
  • Document any technical decision process.
  • Identify any needed reporting, instrumentation and analytics in support of automation.

Qualifications

Education / work experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in technology-related field or relevant experience in implementing software for a financial institution.
  • Total 7 – 10 years related experience in IT
  • Must have 2 + years of experience in design and implementation of Middleware based solutions using TIBCO / Mulesoft
  • Development experience with MuleSoft API gateway, Node.js and MicroServices architecture using Agile / SCRUM methodology
  • Have worked on one or more Middleware implementations
  • Ability to convert the Process requirements to Prototypes and screen flows for demonstration to business
  • Experience in estimation, coordination with onshore and offshore teams and delegating work
  • Assist clients in identifying other business process opportunities that could be targeted with Appian's software
  • Experience or working knowledge in each of the following technologies:
  • Experience with configuration, deployment, and testing of enterprise software applications
  • Strong problem solving and design skills Middleware -specific BPM development
  • Experience in governance processes around databases and middleware a plus
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships at all levels of the enterprise including external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and strategic thinking under a minimum of supervision.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.

  • Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel in a limited capacity.
