    First Republic Investment Management (FRIM) is an SEC-Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) owned by First Republic Bank. Our team within FRIM traces its roots to Luminous Capital, a fast-growing independent RIA that was purchased by FRIM in December 2012. We work exclusively with high net worth clients. Typical clients include entrepreneurs, corporate executives, non-profits, and partners in venture capital, private equity, real estate, and law.


    Organization of the Team


    Our team consists of 14 individuals, including 2 Wealth Managers and 12 supporting team members. The Business Development Associate will work closely with other Associates and Vice Presidents to support the growth of our team.



    We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our Palo Alto-based team as a Business Development Associate.


    The Business Development Associate will work closely with the Wealth Managers and their team to help uncover and develop new business opportunities.


    Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    • Strategically identify potential client opportunities from the Wealth Manager’s extensivenetworks, generating new leads and uncovering high-value opportunities
    • Research and gather business intelligence about prospective clients and trends in opportunities
    • Prepare and send strategic emails to prospective clients specific to their financial needs, withthe purpose of generating interest in working with the team
    • Support Practice Management in all aspects of the sales cycle, including scheduling follow-upmeetings, managing administrative elements, and overseeing the pipelines of completedmeetings to ensure all prospective clients are being contacted throughout the year
    • Proactively construct and implement recommendations and projects that will enhanceoperations, optimize automation, and increase the number of meetings with new prospectiveclients
    • Work with the Wealth Managers and colleagues to ensure timely updating of all marketingmaterials
    • Prepare targeted presentations in a manner that effectively communicates the team’s relevantexperience and articulates our added value





    Career Path You should expect to hold the Business Development Associate position for 18-24 months, during which time you will be evaluated on the impact of your contributions, taking on more responsibilities as you acquire the necessary skills to eventually advance to a more senior role.     Candidates applying for this position should have:


    • Excellent writing, analytical, research and organizational skills, with a high level of attention todetail
    • Ability to comfortably navigate CRM software and relationship management programs, includingSalesforce and Relationship Science. If no experience with these programs, a demonstratedcapability to learn technology systems quickly
    • Experience managing a large database and maintaining data integrity
    • Ability to thrive in an unstructured, demanding role/environment
    • Forward-thinking and solutions-oriented approach at all times
    • Goal and action orientation with ability and desire to work towards revenue targets within ateam environment
    • Poise, confidence, and maturity to interact with senior level clients
    • High level of discretion and tact regarding confidential matters and identities
    • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills
    • Bachelor’s degree
