Eagle Invest Advisor

First Republic Private Wealth Management delivers customized investment advice to individuals, companies and many nonprofit organizations. The firm’s professionals help clients develop integrated wealth management strategies through traditional investment management; digital, automated investment management; and brokerage custodial and trust services.

The Eagle Invest Advisor (EIA)will work in partnership with our management and research teams as the primary resource for clients needing investment advice via our automated, digital platform. The Eagle Invest Advisor will use the digital services as well as personal interactions to regularly communicate with clients about the market environment, investment strategy, portfolio results and general servicing requests.

Responsibilities of the EIA will range from acting as a main point of contact for individual clients to offering investment advice and ongoing portfolio management support as needed. As part of these responsibilities, the EIA will be expected to display proficiency with general portfolio theory and the operational and administrative aspects of portfolio construction and management. In addition, the EIA will have a high level of comfort using a digital platform.   

The EIA will be expected to develop internal relationships with key business partners and display strong sales, marketing and communication skills. The EIA is expected to develop proficiency with Bank products and services in order to facilitate the identification of cross-selling opportunities with the Bank.

• Respond proactively and independently to the individualized needs of the client. Must be able to react to time pressure and difficult situations appropriately.
• Communicate with clients in a professional, knowledgeable manner. Ability to review portfolio activity with clients as well as proficiently explain portfolio performance against client stated risk tolerance and independently conduct client meetings.
• Review market environment and investment research commentaries. Provide research, analysis, and feedback to the management team on individual securities and asset allocation as requested.
• Participate in internal projects and special client assignments.
• Resolve client inquiries, concerns and problems effectively and in a timely manner. Responsible for client retention and day-to-day client satisfaction.
• Efficiently maintain to scale and further develop existing client relationships amongst our broad and diverse client base.
• Develop relationships with bank referral sources. Handle Bank referrals and opportunities identified by Relationship Managers, Bankers, Wealth Advisors, Wealth Managers and/or Trust Officers by effectively utilizing the digital tools available.
• Ability to demonstrate the understanding of key Private Wealth Management and Bank products.
• Contribute to the department as a whole with an emphasis on team work.
• Displays proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel and a familiarity with or ability to be trained on Fidelity Advisor Portal, the CRM database and other software solutions integrated with our technology partner.
• Adhere to all applicable federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.). Identify and report suspicious activity to the AML officer.

In executing these duties and responsibilities, the estimated time allocation for the successful candidate will be:

• Advise clients, respond to client inquiries, ongoing portfolio management - 40%
• Work in coordination with other First Republic Investment Management teams and Bank teams to further cross-service initiatives - 30%
• Other responsibilities: marketing, test product enhancements, and drive tactical initiatives for further development of the product - 30%

EDUCATION

• Required: Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on accounting, finance or economics.
• Required: Series 7 and 66 (or 63/65 combination)
• Desired: MBA, CFP® or CFA candidates

• Foundation in essential planning concepts (retirement planning, education planning, paying off loans vs. saving)
• Strong writing and verbal skills
• Fully understand the white glove First Republic Bank service model
• Ability to work remotely from their main team/information center
• Ability to work well with other groups (ops team, advisors, engineers)
• Ability to stay on top of updates via written communication channels
• Innovative and vocal about changes needed to better the product, both internally and externally for the clients
• Strong understanding of our competitor landscape (in the robo advisor space)
• Ability to understand complex topics and simplify for clients (i.e. translate algorithm)
• Strong troubleshooting/technology skills
• Knowledge of all MS office applications

Physical Requirements:

• Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens
• Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at normal volume, including telephone calls and in person
• Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions
• Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
• Must be able to travel as needed
