In the Marketing and Communications department, we aim to both share this value proposition with current and prospective clients, as well as provide extraordinary service ourselves to all constituents of First Republic.

     

    The VP, National Director of Events and Hospitality will oversee the overall event program strategy and team, understanding and aligning with business objectives, nurturing a high-performing team, providing exceptional service to all constituent groups, and leveraging technology and analytics to evaluate effectiveness and report on results.

     

    This role requires the ability to think creatively and with imagination, respond quickly to requests while remaining flexible to changes, and excellent leadership, relationship management, and communication skills. Success in the position over time also requires a passion for and knowledge of the Bank’s business model, value proposition, heritage and culture.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop the overall event and hospitality program strategy and calendar, aligning with enterprise objectives. Includes the effective and continual
      internal communication of the program, its goals and results.
    • Manage the overall event and hospitality program budget, including establishing key performance metrics, reporting on results, evaluating success and adjusting accordingly.
    • Lead the event and hospitality team, with a total of 9 individuals based in 4 cities.
    • Oversee and implement event-related technologies in order to increase the 1) efficiency and scalability of the team, 2) ease of inviting clients and prospects, and tracking RSVPs, 3) ability to manage ticket inventory for our sports and theater activities, and 4) analysis and reporting on the overall event program and individual events, to demonstrate successful achievement of enterprise objectives.
    • Serve as lead event planner for selected executive-level events in San Francisco, along with event projects as designated by the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. Includes effective executive and banker communication and relationship management; overall management of the invite and RSVP process; sourcing, negotiating and managing venues, vendors and contracts; production of all related creative assets; and evaluation of success.
    • Collaborate effectively with department teams, and serve as a member of the department’s Leadership Team.
    • Maintain our high standards of excellent execution and exceptional service as a steward of the brand and leader in the department.
    • Provide on-site support for major events and team members in markets outside of San Francisco, that include but are not limited to New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Portland, OR, Palm Beach, FL and Jackson, WY.
    • Ensure all related regulatory and privacy requirements are maintained by the team.

    Qualifications

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Experienced in Microsoft Office
    • Strong project management and organizational capabilities, with an exceptional attention to detail
    • Strong budgeting capabilities, along with proven reporting and analysis skills
    • Excellent verbal, written and visual communications skills
    • Skilled at building networks and interpersonal relationships
    • Skilled at leading a team in multiple locations

    Physical Requirements:

    • Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens.
    • Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.
    • Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions.
    • Position involves sitting, standing and walking.
    • May be required to lift 25-50 lbs.
    • Must be able to travel as required.
