    In Lending Services, we document and fund all loans for First Republic. We’re responsible for servicing bank and investor loan portfolios, as well as responding to client and loan team inquiries. The team also supports sales staff in workflow processes, product development, training and compliance. Additionally, we support lending-based systems and vendors and manage technology projects across First Republic product lines.

    The Tax & Escrow Specialist within the Collateral Portfolio Monitoring team will assist in the servicing of First Republic Bank’s loan portfolio by performing escrow analysis, real estate tax tracking, research and resolution of tax related matters. You will work to ensure that First Republic Bank continues to provide the highest levels of customer service by successfully maintaining optimal productivity levels.

     

    What you’ll do as a Tax & Escrow Specialist:

    • Respond to external and internal client requests accurately and in a timely manner via the team’s shared inbox and phone line.
    • Establish new escrow accounts, monitor existing escrow accounts to ensure timely payment of taxes and perform annual escrow analysis.
    • Monitor delinquent tax reports, which include research, resolution and advancement of delinquent taxes.
    • Review and analyze escrow exception reports and perform system maintenance.
    • Work with Tax Authorities to verify account status and resolve outstanding issues.
    • Be knowledgeable of loan transaction history, including payment activity and escrow disbursements
    • Process financial transactions and reconcile discrepancies including additional payments to escrow but not limited to tax refunds and shortage payments.
    • Participate in the development of department policies and/or procedures and assist with client specific projects as assigned.
    • Perform quality control reviews.
    • Perform duties and responsibilities specific to department functions and activities or as assigned by management.
    • Responsibilities include the following: 1)adhering to and complying with all applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.); 2)adhering to Bank policies and procedures; 3) completing required training; 4) identifying and reporting potential suspicious activity to the BSA/AML Officer; and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.

     

    You could be a great fit if you have:

    • Must possess 3 to 5 years of experience in banking or lending, with a strong customer service background preferred.
    • Experience with the escrow arena is a plus.
    • Passion for delivering extraordinary service.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate technical concepts in a way that’s easy to understand.
    • Must be able to work independently, efficiently, and possess good organization and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks within strict time constraints.
    • Possess strong interpersonal skills and maintain composure while dealing with challenging situations.
    • Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, notably MS Excel.
    • Experience with loan systems such as TotalPlus ML and/or OnBase a plus.
    • Must be able to provide extraordinary service and have fun!
