    In Business Banking, we provide comprehensive depository, cash management, and lending services to businesses throughout our communities. While our clients are diverse, we are focused on meeting the needs of professional service firms (doctors, lawyers, accountants, investment managers and consultants of all kinds) as well as those in the following industries: Private Equity, Venture Capital, Technology, Wineries, Aviation and Marine, and Non Profit Organizations. As a Business Banking team member at First Republic, you will work directly with clients to identify their banking needs and financial goals in order to deliver tailored solutions for their businesses as well as their personal banking and wealth management needs.

    The Associate position may include any or all of the following: Manage a portfolio of technology and life science clients, develop and maintain a pipeline of tech/life science clients with the assistance SHR team, develop expertise in tech product offering, cross-sell all bank products to existing clients. Maintaining overall credit quality and client service are top priorities for venture capital firm portfolio.


    What you’ll do as an Associate Business Banker:

    • Associate will be expected to lead portfolio management efforts for SHR venture backed company portfolio. This person will work closely with SHR business bankers to ensure needs of these companies are being met. These will be almost exclusively deposit only relationships.
    • Associate will work closely with SHR team to help coordinate marketing and business development efforts for venture backed companies. This will include, but not be limited to leveraging existing referral sources and existing venture capital relationships for new business, developing new venture relationships and referral sources, and develop and maintain a new business pipeline and follow up on all venture backed referrals to team.
    • Associate will develop and deep understanding of FRB’s product offering to venture capital backed companies and help anticipate future product needs of these companies.
    • For venture capital firms, final review loan documents for consistency and accuracy with approved Credit Narratives. This requires working with Commercial Loan Operations, and in some instances, outside legal counsel. Associate will be expected to negotiate key documentation points with Borrowers.

    • Independently manage a portfolio of loans and cross sell deposits and other bank services. Understand all bank product groups and involve appropriate people to maximize business opportunities. The Associate should solicit guidance from the Business Bankers, Relationship Managers and Product Group Reps as appropriate.
    • Must be able to stand-in for SHR Business Bankers, providing outstanding client support and quality service.
    • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Bisys, PowerLender, OnBase, CLO, AFS Level III, and Moody’s and Bukers Tax Analysis.
    • Perform duties and responsibilities specific to department functions and activities or as assigned by Supervisor.
    • Responsibilities include the following: 1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.) 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training, 4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.




    You could be a great fit if you have:

    • Required: Bachelor’s Degree, strong credit background, a minimum of 5 years of commercial banking and lending experience.
    • Preferred: MBA or similar graduate degree; track record managing clients & cross-selling. Series 7 & 63 a plus
    • Excellent credit skills; able to fully underwrite the most complex credits
    • Extensive experience with complex loan documentation
    • Excellent client management skills; ability to cross-sell to existing clients;
    • Solid and emerging new business development skills
