    The VP, Manager Research professional should have at least 7 to 10 years of manager research / due diligence experience focusing on Separately Managed Accounts, Mutual Funds and ETFs.

     

    What you’ll do as a VP, Research Third Party Manager Research:

    • Lead research on investment opportunities and strategies with a focus on third party managers of equities and fixed income but also extending into other asset classes.
    • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of managers and investment strategies in existing portfolios and those under consideration.
    • Independently perform due diligence on strategies, investment teams and asset management firms; leading meetings to interview investment professionals, including on-site, to effectively assess their skills, the quality of their investment strategy and their ability to consistently add alpha above their respective benchmarks.
    • Document the selection, monitoring and due diligence process and make well-researched recommendations to address specific client portfolio needs in the most effective way.
    • Analyze portfolios of managers and make recommendations with regards to manager sizing within portfolios and manager replacement or retention.
    • Assist with establishing guidelines for, and managing implementation issues associated with, segregated accounts.
    • Monitoring existing client exposures to investment strategies/managers through in-person meetings and calls. Review and interpret portfolio risk and performance attribution reports and document findings.

    • Proficiency in writing and an ability to articulate a message to a broad audience
    • A good instinct for global markets, economies and asset classes
    • Strength in the creation of marketing materials centered on the delivery of a message
    • Familiarity with Morningstar, eVestment Alliance, Factset, CodeRed and Bloomberg 

    Job Demands:

    • Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone and in person.
