    As a Fair and Responsible Banking Associate, you’ll provides key support to the Fair and Responsible Banking Officer and the Fair and Responsible Banking Department on critical tasks related to compliance with the Unfair, Deceptive, and Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP) Act and Fair Lending laws and regulations (including the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act), and other applicable laws and regulations. This includes supporting the Fair and Responsible Banking reporting function, complaint handling and marketing review process, enhancement and development of policies, procedures, and special risk management projects, related to Fair and Responsible Banking.  This position offers a great learning opportunity for an individual interested in establishing a career in Fair and Responsible Banking in a highly collaborative team-based environment.

     

    What you’ll do as a Fair and Responsible Banking Associate:

    • Conducts routine reviews of marketing materials related to Deposit and Residential Lending products to ensure compliance with UDAAP and Fair Lending and works collaboratively with Marketing, Bank Compliance and Legal, as needed.
    • Handles and resolves consumer complaints with potential Fair Lending and/or UDAAP implications, in collaboration with Bank Compliance and applicable Business Units, to determine the complaint’s root cause and ensure appropriate and timely complaint resolution, in accordance to the Bank’s Consumer Complaint Response Policy.
    • Assists with developing and enhancing analysis and reporting tools related to marketing and complaints monitoring to identify UDAAP and/or Fair Lending trends or training opportunities.
    • Independently leads quarterly QC of Fair and Responsible Banking monitoring reports to management level committees and assists the Fair and Responsible Banking Officer with policies, procedures, and risk management projects.
    • Provides project management support for key Fair and Responsible Banking initiatives that includes but is not limited to, administrative assistance, ad-hoc reporting and research and assistance with special projects or other assignments, as needed.
    • With limited supervision, develops and maintains an enforcement action tracker, specific to Fair and Responsible Banking laws, and applies the learnings to training, monitoring and reporting conducted by the Fair and Responsible Banking Department, to further enhance the Fair and Responsible Banking program.
    • Leads the development of the Fair and Responsible Banking Community page to foster ongoing communication and training related to Fair Lending and UDAAP across the Bank.
    • Develops and maintains an active working knowledge and understanding of applicable Fair and Responsible Banking laws and practices.
    • Responsibilities include the following:  1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.), 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training, 4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.

    • 1-3 years of work experience in banking, finance or related business field.
    • BA/BS degree.
    • Strong communication, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a team-based and highly collaborative environment.
    • Highly organized and proactive; ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with other groups and teams in a fast paced environment.
    • Must be able to manage and thrive while addressing multiple priorities and initiatives.
