    We are looking to hire a Fixed Income Trader to join the First Republic Investment Management fixed income team. This person will be working directly with other traders, senior fixed income portfolio managers, fixed income credit analysts, as well with Wealth Managers who serve as relationship managers. The role requires executing transactions for separately managed accounts as well as portfolio construction and risk compliance.

    Responsibilities

    What you’ll do as a Fixed Income Trader:

    • Process daily municipal and taxable purchase and sale requests including managing bid wanted lists, raising cash for SMAs, internal purchase requests, and portfolio construction
    • Manage client portfolios to maximize total return and liquidity while documenting best execution
    • Ensure best execution when managing sales and account liquidations
    • Ensure accounts are properly diversified / structured to comply with Internal Investment Policy
    • Work closely with analysts to ensure purchased securities meet internal credit standards
    • Maintain thorough understanding of municipal and taxable market credits, structures, and yield curves to determine relative value within these fixed income markets
    • Provide market analyses and actionable ideas on a timely basis to facilitate trading ideas
    • Leverage technology to create trading efficiencies while reducing operational risk
    • Support Senior Portfolio Managers and Wealth Managers
    • Provide real time updates regarding recent trades, new issue pricing and market movement

    Qualifications

    What skills you will use:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or CFA a plus
    • Ideally, at least two years of work experience in trading fixed income markets, with focus on municipal and high-grade corporate markets, preferably for separate accounts
    • A strong attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities under pressure
    • Ability to quickly process and analyze large amounts of information
    • Sound judgment and ability to reason

    Experienced user of Bloomberg and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Experience with SQL, VBA, Perform, Muni Center, Bonddesk, and Citigroup Velocity desirable.
