    Overview
    As the Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition & Development, you’ll lead Recruitment, Learning & Development and Performance Management. You will be a core member of the Senior HR Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (“CPO”), and will have the responsibility of overseeing the acquisition, development and performance management of our most valuable resource – our people. You’ll work closely with our CPO, HR Team and business area leaders to develop and execute our Talent Acquisition & Development strategy, programs, technologies, processes and infrastructure; helping to optimize our ability to attract, engage and retain diverse top talent. You will also ensure First Republic continually enhances our position as a great place to work.

    What you’ll do as the SVP, Talent Acquisition & Development :

     

    Leadership:

    • Act as a member of First Republic’s Senior HR Leadership Team (“SHRLT”) and make significant and expert contributions into our overarching people and culture strategies, objectives and offerings
      Develop a high-performing team who understands business objectives and how to best support them
      Represent HR rotationally, with your other SHRLT members, as a member of the Leadership Forum and Bank Enterprise Risk Management Committee

    Talent Acquisition and Development Strategy:

    • Work closely with the SHRLT, HR Business Partners (“HRBPs”) and executives on all matters concerning the design, development, implementation, communication and administration of talent attraction, learning, leadership and organizational development, including engagement, performance and succession management
    • Promote an appreciation of the business value of strategic talent acquisition and development
    • Enhance our core infrastructure for day-to-day recruiting and learning, so that there is a well-defined and appropriate framework in place
    • Develop and maintain a clear talent philosophy for all of First Republic that is supported by our Executive Team and Board of Directors, as this will underpin all Talent strategies, tactics and resources to align with our business priorities and core values
    • Ensure that our approach to talent positions us as an employer of choice and is appropriate for First Republic’s business environment and culture
    • Talent Development, Engagement and Inclusion:
    • Identify, define and lead development and deployment of best-in-class talent development programs and platforms, including key domains such as learning and capability development, leadership development, performance and succession management
    • Identify, define and lead strategic organizational development and effectiveness initiatives and programs to measure and enhance employee engagement and propagate our values and culture
    • Refine and improve our ability to quickly assess and deploy talent, while understanding and addressing any talent gaps
    • Proactively partner with HRBPs to identify, define and lead Talent initiatives that reinforce and strengthen our ability to attract, engage and retain diverse top talent
    • Develop, implement and oversee an operating model and service center of excellence that provides just-in-time organizational development / effectiveness (OD/E) internal consulting for our business areas, e.g., intact or cross-functional team development, change management support for significant projects, etc.
    • Develop, implement and oversee additional operating models and central services relevant to talent development and management, e.g., FRB’s coaching network
    • Ensure our learning, performance management and other OD/E strategies and solutions are best-in-class and based on an in-depth understanding of business needs and latest evolutions in the learning & OD/E field, e.g., blended learning, action learning teams, ROI metrics, etc.

    Talent Acquisition:

    • Ensure our team stays abreast of internal and external dynamics, trends and best practices to assure our ability to consistently attract and hire diverse top talent
    • Drive and sponsor initiatives that reinforce and strengthen our employer brand through creative employer brand campaigns and other strategies and tactics
    • Ensure ongoing evaluation and improvement, as internal and external dynamics may dictate, of our talent acquisition processes, technologies, talent sources and networks across the full cycle of talent acquisition, including new employee onboarding
    • With our team, ensure our talent acquisition philosophy, framework, specialists, processes, technologies, sourcing and employer branding optimize our ability to attract and hire diverse top talent

     

    What skills you will use: 

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree in a related discipline is preferred, e.g., M.S. in Organizational Development, MBA, etc.

    Experience:

    • 15 or more years’ diverse learning and OD/E experience. Significant experience leading corporate learning and OD/E in a medium- to large organization with emphasis on professional / knowledge workers
    • 8 or more years’ people management experience, including managing and leading other HR practitioners
    • Recent experience creating and shaping corporate Talent Development/Management strategies and programs, particularly in the areas of Learning and Performance Management
    • Recent experience working with executive teams on key matters related to Talent, including Succession Management
    • Considerable experience influencing stakeholders at varying levels
    • Considerable experience leading large-scale, complex change and transformation
    • Experience in a Service Organization is strongly preferred

    Knowledge:

    • Full employee and HR lifecycle knowledge (talent acquisition, total rewards, learning, leadership development, talent and succession management, retention, engagement, culture and operations)
    • A recognized expert in learning and OD/E with demonstrated success in designing and delivering flexible and creative Talent Development and Management strategies that link directly to business drivers, and strengthen company culture and employee engagement
    • Knowledge of the latest technologies, analytics and reporting requirements related to talent development and management
    • Understanding of the highly competitive employment environment in California, New York and Massachusetts

    • Influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to present a clear and strategic point-of-view to senior management, while being able to defend and articulate the thought process and rationale behind recommendations
