    The Credit Approval and Administration team provides education, guidance and best practices related to First Republic’s credit culture and policy. Our team includes members of the Executive Loan Committee and Credit Administration who approve and monitor loans in accordance with our credit culture and policy.

    The Commercial Real Estate Analyst is responsible for monitoring the Bank’s commercial real estate and multifamily loan portfolios. The Analyst is responsible for collecting, organizing and analyzing property financials (calculating DSCR and supporting LTV) to support current or update risk ratings. The Analyst will also help coordinate servicing efforts for our sold loan portfolio. This entails obtaining timely rent rolls, coordinating property inspections, and then submitting the results to the Investor(s) using their preferred methodology of underwriting. Other responsibilities may include CRE and MF data validation, monitoring the Single Family portfolio and the Business Banking portfolio.


    What you’ll do as a Commercial Real Estate Analyst:

    • Perform Commercial Real Estate and Multi-Family annual reviews
    • Work with clients and Relationship Managers to obtain current property financial statements and tax returns.
    • Update DSCR on portfolio and sold loans using the CREFC format
    • Perform Global Cash flow Analysis on large borrower relationships
    • Coordinate loan servicing; obtain financial statements, coordinate inspections and deliver results to investor
    • Work with Executive Loan Committee or the Director of Income Property for annual review approval
    • Present verbal and written updates on portfolio performance and criticized loans to the Special Assets Committee, Management and Enterprise Risk Management at least quarterly
    • Correct and validate CRE and MF origination data as needed
    • Monitor Single Family and Business Banking portfolio as needed
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by manager.


    What skills you will use:

    • 2-3 years of experience in commercial real estate credit analysis.

      • Must have experience with commercial real estate and multifamily loan underwriting:

      • Understanding of CREFC is a plus

    • An undergraduate degree with the following competencies:

      • Business Finance and Accounting to ensure proficiency with interpretation of financial statements, financial trends and, global cash flow analysis.

    • Proficient with all financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement).

    • Significant loan monitoring and loan grading expertise.

    • Proficiency in legal terminology and documentation to ensure approved loan terms are correctly interpreted and captured for monitoring.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with contacts across lines of business / clients.
    • Technical aptitude with AFS Level III, Word, Excel and Outlook; knowledge of Access is a plus.
