    The Compliance Department at First Republic Bank is responsible for providing regulatory guidance to the business units of the Bank and for evaluating, tracking and reporting on compliance with applicable regulations. The Compliance Department aims to provide superior risk-based compliance and process management service throughout the Company in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Senior Deposit Compliance Manager possesses strong knowledge of the consumer deposit regulations and serves as a subject matter expert to the business lines.

     

    What you’ll do as a Senior Deposit Compliance Manager:

    • Ensure compliance by maintaining expert, up-to-date knowledge of deposit regulatory changes and amended laws in all aspects of consumer and business deposit-taking, including but not limited to in-branch and back-office operations, wires, ACH payments, mobile and online banking.
    • Act as a knowledge resource for compliance-related matters and serve as a subject matter expert who is able to interpret, research and/or provide technical support to stakeholders in Bank business lines with regard to new and existing deposit regulations and their impact on existing policy and business practices. Applicable regulations include, but are not limited to the following:
      • Expedited Funds Availability Act (Reg CC)
      • Truth in Savings Act (Reg DD)
      • Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Reg E)
      • Reserve Requirements (Reg D)
      • NDIP (Non Deposit Investment Products)
    • Develop excellent relationships and actively partner with business line stakeholders to provide consistent guidance and timely communication and to develop creative solutions and/or process improvements to ensure that new and existing deposit products and programs comply with Bank policies and procedures and with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Participate in the development of department policies and/or procedures, as well as in the creation of tools, guides and other resource materials for the first line of defense.
    • Provide compliance input and support for all new products, delivery channels, and markets as well as for changes to proprietary systems, technologies and/or processes. Actively participate projects for and in internal testing of changes to the same.
    • Partner with the Bank’s Director of Learning and Development to assist in the development and delivery of bank-wide deposit-related training.
    • Work with the Testing Team to validate testing review findings and propose creative and pragmatic solutions for risk and control problems. Have the ability to execute the required actions in an effective manner.
    • Assist the first line in identifying and implementing remedial actions for identified findings and issues.
    • Assist with the tracking and implementation of operational and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, and standard consumer and business deposit account practices.
    • Review deposit-related marketing collateral to assure all regulatory requirements are met prior to publication.
    • Participate as the Compliance representative in deposit-related initiatives and special projects, as assigned.

     

    What skills you will use:

    • 5+ years of work experience in a financial institution or regulatory agency with primary focus on consumer deposit regulations.
    • Strong technical knowledge of key Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Reserve Board and other banking regulations (e.g., Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, Federal Reserve Act/Regulation D, EFTA/Regulation E, Expedited Funds Availability Act/Regulation CC, TISA/Regulation DD, CAN-SPAM, UDAAP.)
    • Minimum of a bachelor's degree. CRCM certification is
    • Experience in bank deposit operations preferred.
    • Excellent project management skills, strong writing and analytical skills and ability to complete projects on time. Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively deliver technical training.
    • Strong ability to work in a leadership role, ability to influence peers. Must be able to work collaboratively with the supported businesses, providing guidance and administering policies/procedures as needed in a timely manner.
    • Experience in developing and implementing compliance, operational and systemic controls; also should be able to construct and execute tests of controls.
    • Strategic thinking with the matched ability to deliver compliance improvements and set best in class process.
    • Self-starter and organized; ability to work independently without much supervision, solve problems and offer creative solutions, influence others and drive results.
    • Strong research skills, advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and experience with on-line research systems including the Internet. Requirement
